Running alongside the ZERO2 program, the ZERO2 Experiences study is a psychosocial sub-study to better understand and meet the information and psychosocial support needs of families participating in precision medicine for childhood cancer across the risk spectrum.
Who can participate?
All childhood cancer patients (aged 0-18) are eligible to enrol in the ZERO2 trial. All parents, as well as patients aged >12 years who are part of ZERO2, may also participate in ZERO2 Experiences. Healthcare professionals at each participating site are eligible to participate also.
What does participation involve?
Patients and parents who decide to participate in ZERO2 Experiences complete a questionnaire after enrolling in ZERO2 (T0), and another questionnaire after receiving their ZERO2 results (T1). Parents also complete follow-up questionnaires annually up to 5 years from enrolment (T2-T6). Parents may also choose to participate in an optional telephone interview where we ask more in-depth questions about their experiences with ZERO2.
How is ZERO2 EXPERIENCES SUPPORTED?
ZERO2 Experiences is supported by the Zero Childhood Cancer National Personalised Medicine Program, Synergy, LOGGIC, the Cancer Institute of NSW and by the Behavioural Sciences Unit.
