Overview
Dr Jennifer Cohen works as a Senior Paediatric Dietitian at the Kids Cancer Centre at Sydney Children’s Hospital and is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer with the School of Women’s & Children’s Health, University of NSW. As a Clinical Dietitian and researcher, Jennifer works with parents and young children in both the hospital and private setting to help them to make the right choices to maximise their nutrition.
Jennifer has been working as a paediatric dietitian for well over a decade. Along with her clinical experience she has substantial research experience in children’s nutrition with over 15 peer-reviewed publications and was the School of Women’s & Children’s Health, Junior conjoint researcher of the year in 2016 at the University of NSW. Her current research interests include improving the dietary intake of children both during and after treatment. She is currently running an intervention to improve the dietary intake of young survivors of childhood cancer. She has also developed a world first decision aid for parents of children undergoing cancer therapy to help them to understand the nutrition choices available.
Jennifer holds a Masters of Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of Sydney and was awarded her PhD in 2016 from the University of Wollongong. She is currently the Project Officer on the obesity models of care project at Sydney Children’s Hospital.
