Educational experiences of children and adolescents with serious illness

Students with serious illness face many barriers that can prevent them from having the same educational experiences and outcomes as students without serious illness. As a result, students with serious may be more likely to fall behind academically, socially, and emotionally.

What does this study aim to achieve?

The aim of this study is to examine the impact of serious illness on students’ academic, social and emotional factors within the school. We will also be investigating the school factors that prevent and the school factors that promote student wellbeing and educational functioning. This will inform the development of programs designed to improve the wellbeing and educational functioning of students with serious illness.

Who can participate?
