Hospital School Study

Evaluation Coordinated health and education support plans developed by Sydney Children's Hospital School

Contact Us
Attending and participating in school is critical to ensure children develop the knowledge, skills and social abilities that will help them across the life course. Students who are hospitalised or unwell, and at home due to chronic illness or injury, for extended or regular periods during their school years, are at significant risk of academic, social and emotional challenges in comparison to their healthy counterparts. Students with a chronic illness also receive insufficient support to address these issues.

What does this study aim to achieve?

This study is aiming to evaluate the coordinated health and education support plans that are part of the support children receive from the Hospital School. This study will aim to improve these plans to better assist children with serious illness or injury and their families at every stage in their education.
